Meet the Team – 10

by on February 14, 2012

Vic is the one in the middle!

We have a few new team members to introduce to you this year – and some not-so-new ones!

We have been remiss in not introducing Victoria, who joined us last year. Vic is a veteran of mission trips to Africa and India. She has bravely crossed cultural barriers to join us in Sydney, all the way from Wollongong.

Tell us about yourself, Vic.

I’m a 23 year old retired registered nurse, born and bred in Wollongong. I come from a Christian family. I moved to Sydney just over a year ago. I work in a disability home and live with a friend in Croydon Park. I’m sporty and a people person. I don’t like to sit still too long!

Why do you want to be part of Canterbury Community Church?

I love serving Jesus in Canterbury with CCC.  The team has a clear vision to love Jesus, each other and the whole of Canterbury.  One thing that makes CCC different in my mind is the outward community focus, we are regularly meeting with people from around Canterbury, inviting them back for meals, etc.  CCC also seeks to meet needs in the area God has given us to care for –  for example setting up a playgroup once a need for young families was recognised. Regular bible teaching and prayer encourages us to keep serving God faithfully.

Victoria has been involved in bible story-telling, playgroup, visiting, and has generally been at the forefront of our efforts to connect with people around Canterbury. She has a stack of enthusiasm for reaching people of all different cultures and backgrounds. We’re stoked to have her with us.

A very belated welcome, Vic!
