A crisis in Canterbury

by on April 3, 2014

Yesterday afternoon our youngest daughter smashed a glass bowl on the floor next to her foot, and got a bad cut from the shards. Blood everywhere. Straight down to the hospital.

But we had two other kids at school, and I had an important meeting at school pickup time. A typical family accident scenario: not enough hands and cars to go round.

But then a neighbour who is now a key member of our church family was able to pick up the kids from school, and minded them for an hour or more. Another neighbour bumped into the girls at the hospital, and gave them a lift home. Another pair of neighbours from our church stopped in and commiserated with little Emma. And I got to have my meeting, with only four or five interrruptions!

Could there be a better place to live than this?

Canterbury = awesome.
